Bylo jednou jedno malé město jménem přístav. Leželo v údolí mezi kopci a protékal jím malý potok. Město bylo obklopeno zelenými loukami a okouzlující přírodou. Jeho obyvatelé, lidé i zvířata, žili v míru a spokojenosti. Ve městě bydlela rodina s malým chlapcem jménem Tomáš. Tomáš byl velice zvídavý a dobrodružný. Vždycky si přál provádět různé výpravy a poznávat nové věci. Jednoho dne se rozhodl, že se vydá na průzkum do nedalekého lesa. Cestou lesem našel starou, opuštěnou chatku. Celý zvědavý ji chtěl prozkoumat, když najednou ucítil vůni něčeho sladkého. Následoval tu vůni a dostal se k malému rybníčku. Hned vedle rybníčku stála malá myslivecká chatka. Tomáš vstoupil dovnitř a tam uviděl neuvěřitelný pohled. V chatce se nacházelo pár malých skřítků, jakoby přímo z pohádky. Skákali sem a tam, smáli se a pili sladký med z malých skleniček. Tomáš se naprosto zaraženě na ně díval. Skřítci ho všimli a jeden z nich, který se jmenoval Oskar, přistoupil k Tomášovi a pozdravil ho. "Vítej, chlapče. Jsme skřítci, kteří se ztratili z lesa. Tady jsme našli útulek a přátelství," řekl Oskar. Tomáš se nadšeně zeptal: "Mohu se k vám přidat? Vypadá to tu jako úžasné dobrodružství." Skřítek Oskar s úsměvem odpověděl: "Samozřejmě! Přiď se k nám skrýt a být součástí našeho skřítkovského společenství." Tomáš se stal prvním a jediným člověkem, který měl tu čest žít mezi skřítky v jejich útulné chatce.
